Supporting the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence: Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO)
Our team supported the M.O.D. establish a best practice business modelling team, building capability and delivering early projects. Duties included:
- Designing and testing a capital investment prioritisation tool which allowed manual and automated constrained optimisation of project timing against annual budget profiles
- Building a life cycle analysis tool to simulate condition degradation and remedial costs for c50,000 building assets, demonstrating a huge work backlog and justifying a substantial rise in budget
- Building a business case model for consolidating military capability into fewer sites, looking at the impact on opex and developing a funding strategy to plug gaps between capex and sale proceeds
- Designing & delivering a comprehensive “Validation and Verification” training course
